Summer Vacation Day 56

Saturday nights are traditionally "date night", so I decided to dress one of my girls for a night on the town.  There is only one version of this doll mold living at my house.  This is Shake It Up Korinne.  She was a 2012 IFDC doll.   Her edition size was 300 and she cost $150.
I took her off the Victoire body she came with and gave her a tall handspeak body from Follow The Line Kesenia.  She is wearing a reproduction Mattel dress called Silken Flame- it is difficult to find the vintage version of this dress in pristine condition.   The coat, hat and purse are from the vintage version (1960-1964).
I think she looks great in this outfit!  I completely missed the beauty in this doll when she was released. My doll friend Rich told me about her, and I found her NRFB on e-bay for less than her retail price.  How can you resist this face?

Summer Vacation Day 57

I have been trying to choose different molds for each day - I'm not sure how long I can go before I need to repeat a mold.   The heat here in the south has really starting cooking us!   I decided it was time  to get out of the city and "hit the beach" for the weekend!

For this photo shoot, I chose one of the first Fashion Royalty dolls I ever purchased.    She is from 2004 and was the IFDC doll from that year.  She was released in an edition size of 500 and cost $125.   She is one of the few Veronique 1.0 mold versions still living here.  She is Diamond Dusted Veronique Perrin.
She has borrowed the swimsuit from her sister Chic Escape.   I originally bought this doll NRFB, along with two others, at a doll show here in Atlanta.  She was part of my actual first Integrity Toys purchase but, unfortunately, was sold during my divorce.  It was a painful sell.
But, with patience, a few years later I was able to purchase the head from Ann in Florida with a partial re-root.  I gave Vero a tall body, so I'm not too stressed that I don't own her original pantsuit ensemble.  When I was uploading photos, I realized I forgot to put in earrings - but who goes swimming in earrings anyway, right?

When I review my collection, I just look at Diamond Dusted and think … "This is where it all started."  Even without eyelashes, I believe she is one of most beautiful dolls who resides here.

Summer Vacation Day 58

I'm glad I decided to redress and photograph a different doll from my collection every day of my summer break.  I apologize in advance if you get sick of my dolls or photographs.  It is now Day 58 of my summer vacation (I'm counting backwards).   I am going to try to choose a different character as often as possible.

The next doll is one that has become extremely popular with collectors.   She was introduced in 2009 as the Integrity Convention Doll.  She was released in an edition size of 350 and was included with the $350 registration fee.  She is Blue Blood Elise Jolie.
I wanted something summery and flirty for today's photoshoot.  This silly little sundress is one of the least expensive outfits I've purchased.  It came on a Jakks Pacific doll on the clearance rack at K-Mart.  I think I paid $3 for it.  It just goes to show you don't have to spend a lot of money to enjoy redressing your dolls!

I purchased Blue Blood from a member of the W Club for $225 NRFB.  I was so excited to be the first to contact the seller.  I hope she sees this blog entry and knows this dolls brings me a lot of joy.    I wanted her to carry something a little whimsical, so this is a Misaki purse.

Blue Blood Elise Jolie is the only version of this mold to appear on the regular FR body.   She is still one of my favorites of this mold.  I just love her so!

The 60 Days of Summer

I decided I would enjoy my collection this summer.  As a teacher, we have an extended break over the summer, so I thought I might focus my blog on photos of a different doll each day.   Since, yesterday, was officially the first day of my summer vacation, this blog will highlight two dolls from my collection.  The first is a doll that keeps coming up for the "chopping block", but always squeaks off it (probably because she reminds me of Ann Margaret).  I don't particularly like blue eye shadow on a doll, but this girl pulls it off.  Her eyes are a very interesting hazel - light green outlined in brown.  they are forward glancing and there is no white underneath them.  She has some of the brightest red hair in my collection.
Shirred Not Shaken Vanessa Perrin was a centerpiece doll from the 2008 Integrity Toys Convention.   She was produced in a limited number of only 160 dolls.  A lottery was held at each table, and attendees who won the opportunity to purchase her paid $175.  She borrowed her ensemble from sister 2011 Dress Code Vanessa.  I don't usually take face forward photos, but I really wanted to share this doll's eyes.  I purchased this doll several years ago nude for a very reasonable price.

The next doll is probably one of the most beautiful dolls ever produced by Integrity Toys.  She is also from 2008.  Her edition size was 850 and she cost $159.  Even with the high edition size, this doll rarely comes available on secondary market; she's just that popular.  I recently purchased a newer handspeak body for this girl.  Here is Most Desired Eugenia Frost.

The ensemble is called "Art Noveau" and was created by Gwendolyn's Treasures.  It was gifted to me by a dear friend.
